Meet Erin O'Roarke
Consultant/Owner
As the Consultant/Owner of Words with a Purpose, Erin offers more than 16 years of professional experience in public relations. This seasoned writer and project manager collaborates with other talented professionals to design, write, and create unique and compelling communication materials for a diverse set of clients. Her clients include business owners, directors of nonprofit organizations, church leaders, educators, and elected officials. From planning to successful implementation, these projects and campaigns require effective and creative collaboration, dedicated teamwork, and a “can-do” attitude.
Erin finds joy in using her writing skills to make a positive difference in people’s lives.
Examples of this include:
- Erin served as a founding board member for the Interfaith Hospitality Network, now Angel House, in Loveland, Colorado. Erin helped recruit churches to house and feed families experiencing homelessness and developed a monthly giving program for the network.
- She facilitated the Community-Wide, then Shoes for the Holidays shoe drives, in Northern Colorado for 10 years. Under her leadership, scores of volunteers collected more than 28,000 pairs of shoes for those in need.
- Together with other concerned citizens and Colorado state legislators, Erin helped bring attention to the need for more academic freedom on our country’s university campuses.
Erin’s former name was Erin Bergstrom. She graduated from Regis University with a BA in Communication in 2005.

Erin advocates for people and worthy causes with passion and integrity.
Erin’s faith is at the center of her life and her values reflect the Judeo-Christian heritage. That means that freedom is at the top of her list. She values the type of freedom that is characterized by humility, courage, constructive action, and sacrificial love.
“Freedom is using our free will for good, on love’s behalf,” says Erin. “And at the center of this love is a unified commitment to ‘“heal the broken-hearted and set the captives free”’.* This kind of love runs counter to what is happening in our country, such as an all-encompassing division, deep fear, and bitterness – even hatred. These things are infecting all of our lives and could destroy our nation.
It’s just too easy to vilify someone in a position of leadership rather than engage in useful, non-violent protest, and model the wise and good qualities that we believe we deserve in our leaders. Trump’s leadership, and now Biden’s, have not been the biggest problem in our country. And one man cannot be our solution. It doesn’t work that way in a democracy. We are American citizens. Each of us has to do our part. So very much is at stake.”
Erin is (almost) a native of Loveland, Colorado, and most of her immediate family still resides along the Front Range. She delights in the beautiful views of the Rocky Mountains. She enjoys worshipping her Creator, swimming, day trips, music, and spending time with friends and family.
